Album: Green Day perform live in Munich, Germany
It’s been three years since Green Day’s rocked national concert venues. Now, the indie rockers are back with a new summer tour and a new record.
Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, upon accepting the Grammy for Best Rock Album on behalf of his band, remarked he was going to go do shots with Kings of Leon, the night's previous rock Grammy winner.

Green Day began simply as punk revivalists, recharging the energy of catchy three-chord punk-pop songs, and brought the sound to a new generation with "Dookie", their 1994 major-label debut.
Despite never really managing to recreate the immense success of "Dookie", their influence has been far-reaching because they opened the doors for a flood of American neo-punk, punk metal, and third wave ska revivalists.
